Post the conclusion of the last international bodyguard championship, an assertive official published notes that : 

 

AS International VIP bodyguard company asserts control over the International Bodyguards Federation (IBF) IBF, encompassing rights to the logo, copyright, management, and directorship. According to this, the company, staunchly supporting the IBF, contends that they are the exclusive entity empowered to administer and manage the organization since 2010. This asserted control aligns with trademark laws and international regulations.

 

 

The origins of these competitions trace back to 1999 when the inaugural Ukrainian Championship and International Bodyguard Tournament unfolded in Yalta, Ukraine. Over the years, this event has evolved into an international spectacle, attracting teams from diverse countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Denmark, Georgia, India, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Norway, Qatar, Romania, Russia, South Korea, and others. Witnessing exponential growth, the Tournament has expanded its reach, organizing championships in foreign countries such as Belarus, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and Romania.

 

On September 19, 2009, in Yalta, representatives from Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Moldova, and Ukraine collaboratively founded the International Bodyguard Federation (IBF), establishing its headquarters in Kyiv. Officially registered by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on May 7, 2010, the IBF marked a formal acknowledgment of its existence.

 

The establishment of the IBF elevated the competition to a higher international echelon. Recognizing the global significance of their mission, the IBF Board strategically decided to inaugurate the World Bodyguard Championships. The inaugural event, held on September 18-23, 2010, in Yalta, served as a monumental showcase of the skills and expertise of bodyguards from around the world.

 

This statement endeavors to provide a nuanced narrative of the historical evolution and international prominence of the IBF, underscoring its steadfast commitment to excellence in bodyguard training and competition.
